the mount bases are assumed to develop the full axial and flexural capacities of the pipe. Wind
is the controlling load, and the 2-inch pipe mounts are judged to be structurally adequate to
support the loading in conformance with IBC Chapters 16 and 22. The evaluation compared
proposed gravity plus wind loading with the design capacity of the system. Seismic loads were
calculated, but did not control.
The Alcatel -Lucent RRH were included in the gravity, wind and seismic analysis and were
considered to be 50% shielded by the KMW antenna for wind load.
The proposed antenna mount in Sector X shall be a Valmont non -penetrating roof frame (part
number RT-7-2-96 or an approved equivalent. The ballast required for the new antenna mount
was calculated and found to be similar to the ballast for the existing mounts. From this we
assume that the new ballasted mounts will not overstress the roof structure since the existing
mounts do not appear to be causing visible structural distress. If the supporting roof structure
in Sector X is different from that under the mounts in Sectors Y and Z then we should be
notified and a new analysis will be required.
Our calculations are attached.
Please contact the undersigned with any questions relating to this work.
LDC, Inc.
David Ohnsager, P.E., S.E.
Engineering ABOVE the Standard
c
V
E
E
'c
0
U
u
c
li
O
-qv
