The location of the siu and the genaal
configuration of the property aze shown on the Vicinity Map and the Site Plan, Figures 1 and 2,
respectively. '
Our understanding of the project is based on discussions with and site infornition provided
by Mr. Chandler Stever with the Malvanny Partnership. The proposed development consists of
an approximately 156,000-squaze-foot Costco wazehouse along the west side of the property, and
, the remainder of the site will be for pazking, landscaping, and storm water management. 14e
' understand the wazehouse will be of steel frame and meta] clad construction. Design loads for
the proposed waze, tiouse aze expec;ted to include wall loads on the order of 3 klf (kips per
lineaz foot), column loads on the order of 100 kips, and floor loads up to 500 psf(pounds per
I ' square foot). Finished fleor elevation for the warehouse will be at Elevation 570 feet, which will

require cuts on the order of 10 feet along the south side of the roposed building footprint and
' fills up to 6 feet in height near the noitheast corner of the building fuc;forint. Preliminary p12ns
1 , indicate that storm water witl be managed with the use of detenticn and water quality ireatment
ponds. 11ese ponds wiU be locatefl south of the proposed building footpeint as noted n
Figure 2.
• Several small wetland azeas have been identified on the site. hiost of these wetland azeas
will be left in-place and enhanced with the development as proposed. However, two wetland
azeas near tie northern mazgin of the property and one near the northwest corner of the proposed
building footprint a •: be filled.
SCOPE
The purpose of this study is to provide design level geotechnical information for
development of the proposed Costco Wholesale project. Our specific scop:of services includes
the following tasks:
1. Explure the subsur:acs soil and ground water conditions across the site by eaccavaring
12 test pits to depths ranging from 4 to 12 feet with a rubber-tired bac.khoe.
2. Evaluate pertinent physical and engineerir.g chazacteristics of the foundation soils bazed on
laboratory tescs performe,i on samples obiained frem the test pits.
G c o E n y i n e e r 1 Fle No.0975-0l7•R73J062997
