The Planning Departme -along with the Building Department investigates the omplaints and prepares the background informati n. Mr. Fagerstrom resiOnded that the case required great deal of attention. Mr. Fagerstrom responded that the City places a lien on-the prope,y. The property on Pecks Drive is for sale and collection will happen when the property' sold 'Commissioner Sand asked if the City can recover the cost of abatement if the homeowner is still ng in the residence. Mr. Fagerstrom responded that the costs are applied to the property tax roll by gssessor's office as a tax lien. The expectation is that payment is made when the property owi7r pays\s their property taxes; however,some property owners will pay the City directly to avoid the li being placed\ on their property. 7:15:04 PM Commissioner Olivers asked if, re had been any code en orcement activity related to illegal signage. Mr. Fagerstrom responded that there had been a lot of actiJi'y but not a lot of enforcement. i he Planning Department does have their own staff to follow-up on, ign violations. A couple sign enforcement cases have one to the Violations Hearing Examiner nd the most recent case was resolved. Mr. Fagerstrpm responded that he goes out with the Planng staff quarterly to document sign violations. Pianyr Ing staff will then distribute warning letters to th violators. Mr. Fage'rstrom responded yes. 7:18:04 PM Chair Adams thanked Mr. Fagerstrom for his presentation. 7:18:20 PM item 2: Workshop—Zoning Code Amendment—Off Street Parking Standard for Senior Citizen Housing Allan Giffen, Planning staff, stated that the City had received a couple inquiries regarding an amendment to the off-street parking standard for senior citizen housing. Planning Commission initiated the code amendment at the March meeting. Since that time,the City has reviewed the background information including the variance application and the analysis that was done on a couple senior housing projects in Planning Commission Meeting Minutes Page 3 May 7,2013 8
