• <br /> 18 <br /> to the City in purchasing additional sidewalk recycling containers(up to five),as needed to expand the program to <br /> new areas in the city. <br /> 4.Schools <br /> Blue Marble Environmental LLC will provide support to district schools waste reduction and recycling programs, <br /> with a focus on cost reductions through increased recycling and composting efforts,the development of <br /> student/teacher green teams to support programs,and school(s)participation in the Washington Green Schools <br /> curriculum. <br /> 5.Public Waste Reduction and Recycling Education Outreach Support <br /> To support and grow awareness and education of City waste reduction and recycling programs,Blue Marble <br /> Environmental LLC Will respond to public telephone and email inquiries of solid waste,hazardous waste and waste <br /> reduction and recycling programs and opportunities. Work will occur with local service providers,Snohomish <br /> County, Snohomish Health District and Snohomish County cities to develop and distribute waste reduction and <br /> recycling educational materials to the general public through community presentations and booths at public events in <br /> coordination with neighborhood groups,the downtown business association,Everett School District,and the <br /> recycling information section of the city's website. <br /> 6.Plastic Bag Reduction <br /> Assistance will be provided to the City of Everett exploring policy options to ban or reduce the use of single use, <br /> carry out plastic bags. Research will be conducted of cities in Washington State with bans,including Seattle, <br /> Bellingham,Edmonds,Mukilteo,Shoreline,and Bainbridge Island. Discussions will occur with Washington State <br /> cities similarly considering or pursuing banning or reducing single use,carry out plastic bags. Findings will be <br /> reported to the City with recommendations,approach and implementation plan for plastic bag reduction or ban in the <br /> City of Everett. <br /> 7.Reporting <br /> Reporting of completed program activities will occur monthly(with program invoices),quarterly for CPG grant <br /> reporting requirements,and overall at the conclusion of the two-year contract agreement for the City of Everett and <br /> Department of Ecology CPG grant requirements. <br /> 8.Collection Prohibition <br /> This contract does not allow any form of commercial collection of garbage or recycling by Blue Marble <br /> Environmental LLC within the Everett city limits. <br /> Page 13 <br /> (Form Approved by City Attorney's Office November 1,2009) <br /> 138 <br />
