Project: Everett Downtown Streetscape Improvement
Change Order No.2
Change Order Effective Date: November 4, 2019
New Item# C-205—Install City of Everett Transit Shelter. Add new item#C-205 entitled, "Install
City of Everett Transit Shelter"by adding this $10,000.00 force account item to the Contract to install
a City of Everett provided transit bus shelter, resulting in a Contract increase of$10,000.00.
Deleted Bid Item
Bid Item# C-106—Transit Shelter. Delete existing bid item entitled, "Transit Shelter" at the
Contract Unit Price of$38,040.00/Each,resulting in a Contract decrease of$38,040.00.
JUSTIFICATION
Bid Item# C-106—Transit Shelter. This existing bid item is being deleted because there aren't any
bus shelter manufacturers that build one as shown in the project drawings and to custom build would
be very expensive. The City of Everett Transit Department is providing an appropriate substitute bus
transit shelter for the project which the contractor will install on Rucker at the location shown in the
approved drawings.
New Item# C-204—Equitable Adjustment for Differing Site Conditions and Unsuitable Soils on
Rucker Avenue. While removing existing roadway pavement on Rucker Avenue, the contractor
discovered that there were multiple electrical conduits in the intersections on Hewitt Avenue,
specifically at California and Wall Street, that were too high for the new roadway elevation, and they
needed to be either removed or lowered. Also encountered in this section of Rucker-Hewitt Avenue to
Wall Street, were unsuitable soils with organics, that needed to be removed, hauled off, and replaced
with suitable engineered fill and geogrid for stability. This new item is being added to account for
costs to do this extra work and for costs associated with the delay caused by these differing site
conditions.
New Item# C-205—Install City of Everett Transit Shelter. This new item is being added to
account for costs to install a City of Everett provided bus transit shelter on northbound Rucker Avenue,
at the location shown on the approved drawings.
Cost of Change Order No. 2
Schedule C Costs: $348,782.56
Total Cost of Change Order No. 2: $348,782.56
Contract Time
There are fourteen (14) days added to the Contract, as a result of Change Order No. 2.
