Should u closure of the intersection in its entirety be necessary keep such closure to the minimum time required to place and compact the HMA mixture, plane, remove asphalt, tack coat, and as needed. d. Any work in an intersection requires advance warning in both signage and a number of Working Days advance notice as determined by the Engineer, to alert traffic and emergency services of the intersection closure or partial closure. e. Allow new compacted HMA asphalt to cool to ambient temperature before allowing any traffic on it. Traffic is not allowed on newly placed asphalt until obtaining Engineer approval. 2. Comply with Section 8-23 for temporary centerline marking, post-paving temporary marking, temporary stop bars, and maintaining temporary pavement marking. 3. Comply with Section 8-22 for permanent pavement marking. 5-04.3(14)B2 Submittals— Planing Plan and HMA Paving Plan ' Submit a separate planing plan and a separate paving plan to the Engineer at least five Working Days in advance of each operation's activity start date. These plans must show the coordination of moving operation and traffic control as they will be discussed at the pre- planing briefing and pre-paving briefing. When requested by the Engineer, provide each operation's traffic control plan on 24 x 36 inch or larger size Drawings at a scale of 1 inch equals 20 feet showing both the area of operation and sufficient detail of traffic beyond the area of operation that may require detouring traffic. The scale on the Shop Drawings may be changed if the Engineer agrees sufficient detail is shown. The planing operation and the paving operation include, but are not limited to, metal detection, removal of asphalt and temporary asphalt of any kind, tack coat and drying, staging of supply trucks, paving trains, rolling, scheduling, and as may be discussed at the briefing. When intersections will be partially or totally blocked, provide adequately sized and noticeable signage alerting traffic of closures to come a minimum two Working Days in advance. Show on the traffic control plan the stationing of peace officers when signalization is or may be countermanded'Also show areas flaggers positioning. Include, at a minimum, on the planing and paving plan: 1. A copy of the accepted traffic control plan, refer to Section 1- 10.2(2), detailing each day's traffic control as it relates to the specific requirements of that day's planing and paving. Briefly describe the traffic control sequencing consistent with the proposed planing and paving sequence, and scheduling of placement of temporary pavement markings and channelizing 1 devices after each day's planing, and paving. 2. A copy of each intersection's traffic control plan. 3. Haul routes from Supplier facilities and locations of temporary parking and staging areas, including return routes.
