CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1 <br /> 7-08.3(2) Laying Pipe I <br /> 7-08.3(2)A Survey Line and Grade <br /> Delete both paragraphs of 7-08.3(2)A and substitute the following: <br /> Provide surveys required to construct the sewer line including, but not limited 111 <br /> to, alignment stakes, offset stakes, grade hubs, and intermediate staking. Use <br /> main survey control points shown on the Plans, unless Engineer directs <br /> otherwise. If a Bid item for "Surveying" is not listed in the Proposal, then this <br /> item shall be included with the Work with no direct compensation made. <br /> Provide laser control equipment approved by the Engineer for setting pipe <br /> grades. <br /> 7-08.3(3) Backfilling <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 7-08.3(3) and substitute the following: <br /> Perform trench backfilling as soon as possible after laying the pipe and only after <br /> inspection and approval of the installed pipe bedding zone backfill. Refer to COE <br /> Standard Drawings No. 614, 615, 620 and the Plans for typical trench section <br /> backfill and compaction requirements. <br /> If the Engineer determines native material is not suitable for use as trench backfill, <br /> use "Gravel Borrow" conforming to 9-03.14(1) of the Standard Specifications. <br /> If there is an excess of suitable backfill material obtained from trench excavation at <br /> one location on the project, use it at other locations on the project or dispose of at <br /> an approved disposal site. The cost of transporting the excess backfill material is <br /> considered incidental to the Contract with no direct compensation made. <br /> Delete the first sentence of the third paragraph. <br /> Delete the third and fourth sentences of the fourth paragraph. I <br /> 7-08.3(4) Plugging Existing Pipe <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 7-08.3(4) and substitute the following: <br /> Where shown on the plans to plug and seal existing watermain, sanitary sewer and <br /> storm drainage pipe plug existing pipe a minimum distance of 2-feet from the inlet <br /> end with cement grout and abandon in place. <br /> 7-08.4 Measurement <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 7-08.4 and substitute the following: <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br /> 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 7-08.5 Payment I <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 7-08.5 and substitute the following: <br /> Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br /> as described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br /> Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 7-09 WATERMAINS <br /> 7-09.1 Description <br /> Revise the first paragraph in 7-09.1 to read as follows: <br /> This Work consists of constructing watermains in accordance with the Plans, the <br /> Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions and the COE Standard Drawings, at <br /> the location shown on the Plans. <br /> Watermain Replacement"U" Division 7—STORM, SEWER,WATER October 1, 2019 <br /> WO No.—UP3698 SP—175 <br />
