' CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> ' Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br /> 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> ' 7-09.5 Payment <br /> Delete all paragraphs of 7-09.5 and substitute the following: <br /> Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br /> as described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br /> Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 7-12 VALVES FOR WATERMAINS <br /> 7-12.1 Description <br /> Supplement 7-12.1 as follows: <br /> 7-12.1(1) Submittals <br /> (******) <br /> Provide Type 2 Working Drawings for all materials and Standard Plans. <br /> 7-12.2 Materials <br /> Delete the first paragraph in 7-12.2 and substitute the following <br /> Provide materials meeting the requirements of the following: <br /> Gate Valves (2-inches to 12-inches) 9-30.3(1) Special Provisions <br /> Butterfly Valves 9-30.3(3) Special Provisions <br /> Valve Boxes 9-30.3(4) Special Provisions <br /> Valve Stem Extensions 9-30.3(6) Special Provisions <br /> Combination Air ReleaseNacuum Valve 9-30.3(7) Special Provisions <br /> Tapping Sleeve and Valve 9-30.3(8) Special Provisions <br /> Assembly <br /> 7-12.3 Construction Requirements <br /> Revise the third paragraph to read as follows: <br /> Provide combination air release/air vacuum valves as noted on the Plans and in <br /> accordance with COE Standard Drawing 512. For 2-inch combination air release/air <br /> vacuum valves provide 2-inch sizes for PARTS A-F, H-J and Q. <br /> Supplement 7-12.3 by adding the following: <br /> ' Install valve box centered on the operator nut. <br /> Provide 3-inch thick x 2-feet x 2-feet HMA concrete pad around valve boxes located <br /> within gravel surface. <br /> ' Provide one valve stem extension, minimum 12-inch length, in accordance with COE <br /> Standard Drawing No. 505 when the top of the valve operating nut is more than three <br /> feet below finished grade. <br /> Provide equipment, labor, tools, materials and miscellaneous parts to perform pavement <br /> sawing, pavement removal, excavations, shoring, traffic control and other Work required <br /> to prepare the site for City Utility Department personnel to install the City supplied <br /> ' tapping sleeve and valve assembly. <br /> Notify City Utility Department a minimum of five business days for each tap being made. <br /> The Utility Department will determine the date and time to make each tap. <br /> Expose the watermain being hot tapped, including properly shoring the excavation in <br /> accordance with requirements of WISHA, RCW 49.17 including WAC 296-155. Should <br /> City personnel determine the excavation and shoring do not meet the requirements of <br /> WISHA, RCW 49.17, including WAC 296-155, City personnel will notify Contractor to <br /> make necessary modifications to bring the excavation and shoring into compliance prior <br /> to City personnel entering the trench. <br /> ' Watermain Replacement"U" Division 7—STORM, SEWER, WATER October 1, 2019 <br /> WO No.—UP3698 SP—182 <br />
