26.1.1 Employees shall be allowed upon retirement or death to receive in cash an amount equal <br /> to fifty percent (50%) of the value of their then existing sick leave accrual balances up to <br /> a maximum of 520 hours. <br /> 26.1.2 For the purposes of this section, retirement shall mean: (a) a separation of employment <br /> after 20 years of service under LEOFF, or (b) a separation of employment after reaching <br /> age 53 with five years of credited service under the LEOFF system, or(c) separation after <br /> becoming totally incapacitated for continued employment with a LEOFF covered <br /> employer. <br /> 34 <br />
