As part of the joint project the northern 58 acres of the project was reserved for advanced mitigation of wetland impacts from dike improvements and treatment plant expansion. Permits for the mitigation site require monitoring over a 10-year period to document progress toward restoration of the intertidal wetland. The Professional Services Agreement with ICF Jones& Stokes,Inc. provides for the Year 6 monitoring of the site. The project permits require monitoring and reporting of the following parameters: hydrology, soil chemistry, vegetation, water quality,benthic invertebrates, fish,and wildlife. Amendment No. 1 will extend the completion date from March 31, 2014 to March 31, 2015. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with ICF Jones & Stokes, Inc. to extend the completion date to March 31,2015 for the Smith Island/Union Slough Restoration site monitoring at no additional cost to the City. 241
