Senior Services of Snohomish County— Meals on Wheels This project will help reduce the waitlist for the Meals on Wheels program and will provide nutrition 2 to homebound vulnerable older adults living in the City of Everett. Recommended 2014 CDBG Funding $12,412.00 8. Volunteers of America - Rental Housing Mediation Service This project provides neutral rental housing mediation to both owners and tenants of low income rental properties. Recommended 2014 CDBG Funding $11,699.00 9. Snohomish County Legal Services - Housing Justice Program The Housing Justice program functions as a homeless prevention program by providing legal services to low-income tenants at eviction hearings. Recommended 2014 CDBG Funding $8,774.00 10. Senior Services of Snohomish County - Housing Social Services Housing Social Services provides for a regular on-site service coordinator at federally funded, subsidized housing for senior and disabled residents. They are trained to recognize social and health needs and to help residents to obtain services quickly and effectively. This forms a link to the service network in order to prevent premature or unwarranted institutionalization. Recommended 2014 CDBG Funding $11,688.00 11. Snohomish County—Senior Peer Counseling Program The Senior Peer Counseling Program uses trained and supervised senior volunteers to provide supportive counseling to other seniors facing difficult life challenges. These challenges include loss of loved ones and friends, health problems, retirement, relocation, loss of mobility, and other changes associated with aging. These issues often lead to depression, isolation and anxiety. Recommended 2014 CDBG Funding $3,103.00 12. Catholic Community Services - Volunteer Program Services This program will reimburse the transportation costs of volunteers providing transportation services to clients residing within the city of Everett.
