Q
Ted de Budden
From: Ted de Budden
Sent: Tuesday,April 23, 2019 1:19 PM
To: Donald Cunningham
Subject: 1918 Baker CE18-0974
Don,
Here is a brief summary of my observations made during the joint inspection conducted with you this morning at 1918
Baker St.
As you know our inspection today confirmed that the structure has been altered from the original single family
configuration to create two separate dwellings thus creating an Unlawful Structure per IPMC. 108.1.4
Much of the electrical wiring and equipment observed today within the upstairs apartment has been installed without
permits and inspection approval.
Time dated wiring was present 8/23/2013 with no permits of record.
Some of the electrical equipment and wiring has been improperly installed, is defective, and is unsafe as defined by
code. IPMC 108.1.2 "Unsafe Equipment"
Due to the numerous electrical defects observed today it is my determination that the two story building located at
1918 Baker is an "Unsafe Structure" as per IPMC 108.1.11
It is my recommendation that the entire structure be condemned and vacated ASAP until all required repairs have been
made and re-occupancy approved by the Everett Building Division.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide assistance in this matter.
Regards
E FE RIE TT
Ted de Budden
Chief Inspector
Public Works
3200 Cedar St Everett WA.98201
(425)257 7271
tbudden@everettwa.gov
