CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON <br />EVERETT POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program <br />(CFDS# 16.738) <br />2014 Local Grant Application <br />Section 2 - Budget Narrative <br />BUDGET NARRATIVE <br />Introduction <br />The budget information for the Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance grant is <br />presented by project component areas. Funding is sought for the purchase and acquisition of 1) <br />Lexipol Law Enforcement Policies Web -based Service, 2) Automated External Defibrillators <br />(AED), 3) Diver Safety Lights. <br />A. CONTRACTS <br />Lexipol Law Enforcement Policies Web -based Service <br />The first project proposed for JAG funding is the purchase of Lexipol's Law Enforcement Policy <br />Manual; to include, Daily Training Bulletins and the Supplemental Publication Service for <br />utilization by ail department personnel. These resources would provide a comprehensive <br />framework to institute a clearly written policy manual with a complementary training <br />component, the ability to easily archive records, and electronically store/link other types of <br />manuals or documents. The estimated cost for the two-year implementation and service is <br />$38,425. <br />B. EQUIPMENT <br />Automated External Defibrillators <br />The second project proposed is the purchase of AEDs. These items are extremely beneficial to <br />patrol, due to the recent training received in High Performance CPR.
