Plans Basement plans on Sheets A-1.0 and A-1.2 appear to indicate that a new guardrail <br /> shall be provided along the existing wall. At a minimum, an existing guardrail must extend <br /> along the new section of retaining wall adjacent to the new stairs at the southwest building <br /> corner. The following comments shall be addressed: <br /> a. The extent of existing and new guard construction shall be shown in the drawings. <br /> Details for the new guard construction shall be provided. Additional detailing, including <br /> but not limited to the post base plates and welding, and post maximum spacing, shall be <br /> specified in the drawings. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1603.1, and 1604.1. <br /> b. The guard height of 34 inches per Sheet A-1.2 and Elevation 1/A-2.0 shall be increased <br /> to a minimum of 42 inches per IBC Section 1015.3. <br /> c. Openings in the guards shall comply with IBC Section 1015.4. <br /> d. Calculations substantiating the design shall be design for the loads per IBC Section <br /> 1607.8. Calculations substantiating the design shall be submitted for review. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
