Based on the structural investigation, the rooftop unit(RTU-1), has been
relocated. The revised unit location is shown on the mechanical roof plan, drawing sheet M1.1. In
addition to the RTU-1 revised location, minor drafting corrections were made on sheets M0.1, M0.2,
M0.4 and M1.1.
Review Comments Response
1. The new mechanical units weight 624 and 736 lbs 1. Please see the attached structural engineer
per Sheet M0.4.The increased roof loading response letter.
appears to exceed 5%of the original design load. It
is presumed that the original roof live load did not
exceed 20 psf.In addition,the record drawings do
not appear to show the existing mechanical units,
and therefore they do not contribute to the
original design load.Calculations substantiating the
capacity of the roof framing to support the units
shall be submitted for review. The analysis loads
shall be per the current code(e.g.,25 psf snow
loading,etc.).See IEBC Section 807.4.
