This has included major
improvements that benefits the cammmty and the bank at the
intersection of 75th and Evergreen Way.
At the time of permit application, we brought up the subject of the
existing bus shelter located at Evergreen Way. We are concerned that
this location creates a hazardous condition at a very busy
intersection. our request at the time was to have the bus stop moved
further southward toward the middle of the block where it would not
cause a visibility problem for traffic on our site or 75th. That
request was denied.
Mr. Dennis Gableman, your building inspector, has now requested that we
move the bus shelter from its original location a few feet further
south. We strongly oppose this request as it further compounds the
hazardous conditions it currently presents. Moving it south a few feet
would further restrict the visibility for traffic trying to exit onto
Evergreen Way from our site. Further, through our extensive experience
with drive -up traffic at numerous locations, that move would most
certainly expose it to continual damage by customer traffic at our
drive -up. This would endanger anyone trying to use this shelter. The
more weather dictates the need for cover the greater the risk due to
reduced visibility for drivers trying to avoid that structure.
We would like to again request that this bus shelter be moved
substantially south of our location to reduce the hazard to both bus
stop users and bank customers. A possible location would be the
temporary location that was used during construction. This location is
approximately 250 feet further south. If this is not possible, then we
want to make it clear that any moving and subsequent damage repairs and
claims would be the sole responsibility of the City of Everett.
