The Human Needs Advisory Committee was briefed on the Task Force work by
Committee members Megan Dunn and Teena Ellison, who are also members of the
Task Force. We have reviewed the draft Task Force Report and understand the final
Task Force Report will be issued soon with a number of important recommendations to
address street-level social issues.
The Human Needs Grant allocation is currently $3.00 per capita. The Human Needs
Advisory Committee voted unanimously to recommend that City Administration and City
Council provide additional Human Needs Grant funding in the amount of an additional
$1.00 per capita to help address the recommendations of the Everett Community
Streets Initiative Task Force. We further recommend that the additional funding be
allocated through the existing Human Needs Grant funding allocation process.
We greatly appreciate your consideration of this recommendation and your continued
grant support to address human needs in our community.
18
