This effort is complete.An outgrowth of those efforts was the Washington <br /> Families Fund. The first-phase was the creation of the Washington Families Fund which in collaboration <br /> with the private sector, state funding was matched to assist homeless families with services. The second <br /> phase of The Foundation effort continued to help homeless families by expanding the purpose of the <br /> Washington Families Fund to test and implement a new county and state level system response to help end <br /> family homelessness.The Foundation funded`Pilot Communities"who were King,Pierce, and Snohomish <br /> Counties. The Counties were responsible to implement and test the promising practices for ending family <br /> homelessness at the county level. Results are summarized in the attached MOU. This third phase is to add <br /> youth and young adults to the priority for funding. The Memorandum of Understanding is a statement of <br /> support and desire to collaborate in the new effort. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Washington Youth and Families Fund Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> 19 <br />
