• • • • • ORDINANCE NO. 4710 de AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.20.070 AND 2.20.080, 2.20. 100, 2.20.150, 2 .20.190 AND 2.20.220, AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS TO CHAPTER 2.20 OF THE EVERETT CITY CODE; SAID AMENDMENTS AND NEW SECTIONS DEAL WITH SEWER CON- NECTIONS, REQUIRING A LICENSE TCUISSUE TO SEWER CON- TRACTORS, FIXING LICENSE FEES, REQUIRING A SIDE SEWER BOND AND FIXING THE AMOUNT AND CONDITIONS THEREOF , RE- QUIRING THE LICENSEE TO FURNISH SUCH BOND BEFORE PER- FORMING ANY WORK IN OPENING, PENETRATING OR CONNECTING WITH ANY PUBLIC SEWER, SIDE SEWER, LATERAL OR DRAIN FOR ANY PURPOSE, REQUIRING SIDE SEWER CONTRACTORS AND LICENSEES HEREUNDER TO MARK EQUIPMENT USED IN SUCH WORK, REQUIRING SUCH LICENSEES IN THE DISCHARGE OF SUCH WORK TO INSURE PROPER GRADE FOR GRAVITY FLOW FROM HOUSE OR BUILDING TO PUBLIIC SEWER AND FURTHER REQUIRING SUCH LICENSEE IN THE DISCHARGE OF SUCH WORK TO DETERMINE THAT THE MAIN SIDE SEWER EXTENSION FROM THE MAIN PUBLIC SEWER TO THE PROPERTY LINE IS OPEN AND IN GOOD WORKING CONDI - TION BEFORE MAKING CONNECTIONS, FIXING EXPIRATION DATES OF PERMITS , REQUIRING THE USE OF BELL-TYPE SEWER PIPE , FIXING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN INSPECTOR, AND GRANTING THE CITY ENGINEER CERTAIN AUTHORITY. NOW, THEREFORE , THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section I : That Section 2.20.070 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 2.20.070 LICENSE. Applications, qualifications for, fees and term of license. Any person, firm, corporation or contractor required by this ordinance to be licensed to make connections to public sewers or install side sewers, laterals, and/or drains and to make repairs , alterations or extensions thereof , shall make application to the Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Everett and shall file at the same time a certificate or statement signed by two responsible contractors or plumbers or build- ers or by one of each to the effect that the applicant Is known to them as a reliable person, firm, corporation, or contractor skilled and qualified to perform the work of a side sewer installer. Before a side sewer license shall be issued or renewed, applicant shall pay in advance there- for to the City Treasurer, the sum of $ 50.00 ; provi.ded, however, all licenses issued hereunder for the calendar year of 1965 shall be valid through the 31st day of Decem- ber, 1965 , and; provided further , that for 1965 only, the fee therefor shall be one half the established annual license fee. - 1 -
