Any policeman or policewoman who shall be required to <br />attend police court to testify at any time other than during <br />his or her shift of work shall be allowed payment for two hours <br />overtime pay based at the rate of one and one-half times his or <br />her monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight. Any <br />policeman or policewoman who shall be required to work when an <br />emergency has been declared to exist by the chief of the police <br />department or duly authorized supervisor, at any time other than <br />his or her regular shift, shall be allowed for such overtime <br />work at the rate of one and one-half times his or her monthly <br />salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight. Payment, in both <br />bases above provided, shall be in addition to his or her regular <br />pay. <br />All day laborers who shall be directed by the head of <br />their department or duly authorized supervisor to work more <br />than eight hours in any one day, or more than forty hours in <br />any calendar week or on any day that is designated as a legal <br />holiday in the State of Washington, except Sundays, shall be <br />paid for such overtime work, or work on such holidays, at an <br />hourly rate equal to one and one-half times the daily wage <br />divided by eight. <br />This chapter and section shall not apply to heads of <br />departments who are not covered by civil service in connection <br />with their employment. <br />Section 2: An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this <br />ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br />Attest: <br />Passed: /_ <br />Published: f 7 ' J <br />MAYOR <br />
