I reviewed the design guidelines for the Providence master plan and the most relevant section is the following: 17 Rooftop mechanical equipment Intent: To ensure that rooflines present a distinct profile and appearance to the building and express the residential neighborhood character. Guidelines: Mechanical and electrical equipment mounted on the roof shall be organized, proportioned, detailed, landscaped (with decks or terraces) and colored to be an integral element of the building. In consideration of the graphics you have provided, and the scope and scale of the additional rooftop mechanical equipment,the addition will not require review by the Design Review Committee, and I can sign off for Planning. The color of the stacks appears to be the most important element of the above guideline. This approval is based on the presumption that the color of the stacks will be as shown in your graphics. The proposed stacks, as depicted in your graphics and pasted below are very similar to other rooftop mechanical equipment on the hospital buildings. +wts.�.
