This is now specified in SSK-001. See sheet S1.01.
iii. This is now specified in SSK-001. See sheet S1.01.
iv. This is now specified in SSK-001. See sheet S1.01.
v. This is now specified in SSK-001. See sheet S1.01.
vi. The infill design and existing slab evaluation is specific to the anticipated opening sizes. In the unlikely event
that the actual openings are significantly larger than anticipated, the entire infill design would need to be re-
evaluated.
vii. The anchor edge distance to bottom of slab is controlled by SSK-001 as-is.The existing slab is 8 1/2" thick,
the infill is 6 1/2"thick,and the anchors are set 2" from the top of the 4"x4"ledger angles. This leaves
approximately 4"of edge distance (8.5"—6.5"+2").
viii. The 4" edge distance is within the acceptable edge distance of the expansion anchor product specified.
ix. This has been removed.
lc.The calculations have been removed from the drawings.
le.This is now specified in SSK-001,on sheet S1.01.
if.The special inspection requirements have been updated and moved to the structural drawings.
(New comment#2—07/17/19)
2. Sheet 1.02 indicates the addition of a penetration through the existing roof. The following comments shall be addressed:
i. Structural calculations for the anchor design do not appear to be included and shall be submitted for
review. The development of the wind loading shall be provided, including the profile of the exhaust fan to
substantiate the effective wind area.
ii. The anchors for the connection at the slab edge is installed at an angle. The existing curb is anticipated to
provide minimal effective confinement. The calculations shall provide additional commentary and analysis
for this configuration, including documentation from the manufacturer verifying the proposed installation,as
need to substantiate the design.
iii. Supplemental analysis of the existing roof for the proposed opening shall be performed as needed to
substantiate the integrity of the modified roof deck. The anticipate weight of the fan (presuming it is not
negligible) shall be included in the analysis.
iv. The anticipated weight of the fan shall be stated in the drawings.
v. The special inspections included in the response to Structural Review Comment if should be referenced for
this work. Alternatively, the comments should be included as general requirements on Sheet 1.02 instead of
with the floor infill detail.
Response:
2. i. The structural calculations have been updated to include the rooftop exhaust fan anchorage design.
ii. The anchor orientation at the slab edge condition has been modified.Anchors will be installed vertically.
iii. See the updated calculation package for this analysis.
iv. This is now stated in SSK-002. See sheet S1.01.
v. The special inspection requirements have been stated in the structural drawings. See sheet S1.01.
A meeting was held on 7/11/2019 with Drew Martin,Tony Lee,Jim Grafton,Jim Harman and Melinda Wind in attendance
to review the above comments.During this meeting Drew Martin also noted that Door 018C needed to be a smoke rated door.
This revision has been incorporated into the door schedule on Sheet A8.11.
