NDT Technician met with Mr. Galen Smith of Skanska at the project site. Mr. Smith provided access to the exposed 3" Schedule 80 steam condensate piping. Testing on this day was performed per request to determine the wall thickness of the existing 3" piping at two locations. Wall thickness was determined using a GE USMGO+ Thickness and Flaw Detection instrument and a 1/4"x 10Mhz straight beam transducer. Ultrasonic testing was conducted at the following locations, and wall thickness is recorded as found: Floor Location Wall Thickness C2 Grid lines B.5 to B4.5 .290" C3 Mechanical Room—vertical piping .283" Note: Nominal wall thickness of 3" Schedule 80 pipe is .300" To the best of our knowledge, the items inspected today are in conformance with approved plans and specifications.
