FYR
Client Responsibilities
1. Provide documentation of the downtown areas that the City has determined could be
separated.
2. Provide information on street improvements, redevelopment, or other proposed changes
with the Port Gardner tributary basins.
Assumptions
1. Treatment will need to be provided for stormwater separated from the combined sewer
system.
2. Treatment of separated flows from the downtown areas, most likely currently tributary to
PSO4, PSO5, and PSO6, will occur at Port Gardner Storage Facility.
3. Treatment of separated flows from the areas in PSO7 that will be diverted to Forgotten
Creek will need to occur within the basin.
4. Cost estimating of separation will be developed under the cost estimating task.
Deliverables
1. Draft and Final Potential Separation Opportunities TM (PDF format).
Subtask 203 — Alternative Modeling
Objective
Use the updated and calibrated model to evaluate conveyance alternatives for the Port Gardner
Storage Facility. Modeling will determine pipe sizing, maximum HGL elevation (transition from
gravity to pressure flow), interim function during sequential implementation and flow changes
(reduction) to waterfront lift stations.
Consultant Services
1. Perform modeling analysis to evaluate alternatives identified in Task 400. The City's
climate impacted rainfall time series will be used for system analysis.
2. Perform quality control reviews periodically through the alternatives analysis process.
3. Conduct a model workshop to review modeling results for the conveyance alternatives
identified in Task 400.
4. Prepare exhibits summarizing the results of the model analysis.
Client Responsibilities
1. Provide the most current climate change impacted rainfall time series for use in model
analysis.
2. City staff will work with HDR to help identify which model alternatives to be evaluated.
3.
