ER
Assumptions
1. The consultant team will not develop new predictions of the impact of climate change on
rainfall.
2. The model workshop will be held at the end of the alternative evaluation and be no
longer than four (4) hours in duration. Attendees will include HDR staff (up to two[2])
and City staff.
Deliverables
1. Draft and Final text and exhibits describing the results of the model analysis will be
developed under Task 400.
Task 300 — Conveyance Alternative Development
Task Objective
In conjunction with the modeling performed in Task 300 develop conveyance strategies to route
combined and stormwater flows to the PGSF and return the flows to the City wastewater
conveyance system or to the DWO.
Subtask 301 — Conveyance System Review
Consultant Services
1. Coordinate a workshop with City staff and consultant team, including modeling staff, to
review current wastewater system configuration, review recent changes in the
conveyance system, identify pipelines that may be repurposed, and begin to identify
conveyance routing alternatives.
2. Identify conveyance system criteria and objectives including redundancy, reliability,
operational simplicity, and cost. Prepare an initial list of alternative evaluation criteria.
Candidate evaluation categories and criteria are engineering feasibility/cost (including
construction methods evaluation, e.g., open cut, micro tunnel, HDD, pipe bursting, etc.),
existing utility conflicts; land rights costs and property impacts.
3. Based on modeling analysis of the collection system identify feasible conveyance
options for combined sewer flows, separated and treated storm water flows, and
untreated storm water flows.
4. Document the conveyance system locations outside of the PGSF basin that have the
potential for routing flow to PGSF.
Client Responsibilities
1. Coordinate system reviews with representatives from the City's Water Pollution Control
Facility (WPCF) and the Technical Services Group (TSG).
2. Provide a meeting room and schedule a full day workshop to review the existing system
and visit areas within the collection system.
3.
