Silver Lake Elementary School Subsurface Exploration, Geologic Hazard,
Building Additions, Service Drive, and Water Line Installation and Geotechnical Engineering Report
Everett, Washington Project and Site Conditions
very dense till soils are suitable for shallow building foundations and direct pavement section
support.
4.1 Hydrology
Ground water seepage was not encountered in our exploration borings at the time of either
field study. However, the upper surface of the till was mottled indicating intermittent ground
water flow occurs, likely following extended wet weather periods. Therefore, limited, shallow
ground water flow should be expected above the relatively impermeable layers within the till
sediments following extended periods of wet weather or in response to changes in site use.
The duration and quantity of flow generally depends upon several factors, including
topography, soil grain size and density, and season.
November 8, 2006 ASSOCIATED EARTH SCIENCES,INC.
SGB/Id-KE02599B2-Projects120020599IKE%WP Page 4
