1 (1) "Domestic violence" means any of the following acts committed <br /> 2 by one family or household member against another or by one intimate <br /> 3 partner against another, as those terms are defined in RCW 26. 50. 010: <br /> 4 (a) Physical harm, bodily injury, assault, or the infliction of <br /> 5 fear of imminent physical harm, bodily injury, or assault ( (, bctwccn <br /> 6 family or houschold mcmbcrs as dcfincd in RCW 26. 50 . 010) ) ; <br /> 7 (b) ( (ccxual) ) Sexual assault ( (of onc family or household mcmbcr <br /> 8 by anothcr family or houschold mcmbcr) ) ; or <br /> 9 (c) ( (stalking) ) Stalking as defined in RCW 9A. 46. 110 ( (of onc <br /> 10 family or household mcmbcr by anothcr family or houschold mcmbcr) ) . <br /> 11 (2) "Employee" means any employee of the state, including <br /> 12 employees of school districts and educational service districts, who <br /> 13 are entitled to accrue sick leave or annual leave and for whom <br /> 14 accurate leave records are maintained. <br /> 15 (3) "Parental leave" means leave to bond and care for a newborn <br /> 16 child after birth or to bond and care for a child after placement for <br /> 17 adoption or foster care, for a period of up to sixteen weeks after <br /> 18 the birth or placement. <br /> 19 (4) "Pregnancy disability" means a pregnancy-related medical <br /> 20 condition or miscarriage. <br /> 21 (5) "Program" means the leave sharing program established in RCW <br /> 22 41 . 04 . 660. <br /> 23 (6) "Service in the uniformed services" means the performance of <br /> 24 duty on a voluntary or involuntary basis in a uniformed service under <br /> 25 competent authority and includes active duty, active duty for <br /> 26 training, initial active duty for training, inactive duty training, <br /> 27 full-time national guard duty including state-ordered active duty, <br /> 28 and a period for which a person is absent from a position of <br /> 29 employment for the purpose of an examination to determine the fitness <br /> 30 of the person to perform any such duty. <br /> 31 (7) "Sexual assault" has the same meaning as set forth in RCW <br /> 32 70. 125. 030. <br /> 33 (8) "Stalking" has the same meaning as set forth in RCW <br /> 34 9A. 46. 110. <br /> 35 (9) "State agency" or "agency" means departments, offices, <br /> 36 agencies, or institutions of state government, the legislature, <br /> 37 institutions of higher education, school districts, and educational <br /> 38 service districts . <br /> 39 (10) "Uniformed services" means the armed forces, the army <br /> 40 national guard, and the air national guard of any state, territory, <br /> p. 25 SHB 2473.SL <br />
