•
December 18, 2006
Michael & Kandra Nasin Case#06-0895
PO Box 567
Everett, WA 98206
RE: Single family residence converted to duplex without review, permit or approval.
Dear Mr. &Mrs. Nasin:
It has come to the attention of the City of Everett Planning and Community Development
Department that you have converted your property at 3415 Oakes Avenue, from a single
family residence to a duplex without review, permit or approval. Everett Municipal
Code Section 19.41.050 prohibits the structural alteration of any building in the City of
Everett without first seeking, review, approval and permits. Please be advised this
circumstance constitutes a violation of the Everett Municipal Code.
Your property is located in an R-3 zoning district. Although a duplex is a permitted use
in the R-3 zoning district the city has a formal process that must be followed. This
department would like to enlist your cooperation in voluntarily correcting the violations
by submitting the necessary paperwork to obtain the necessary review and approval for
the conversion to secure permits which will enable inspections to ensure the health, safety
and welfare of the occupants living in this renovated structure.
You were notified of the need to rectify this matter during a telephone conversation on
August 18, 2006. As of this date the necessary steps to bring your property into
compliance with City Codes have not been taken. Failure to correct the violations may
result in the issuance of a Violation Citation, which could result in a fine and/or costs
being assessed against you. We look forward to working with you to resolve this matter.
Please contact the Planning and Community Development department(425) 257-8731, or
in person at 3200 Cedar Street to obtain the necessary paperwork to bring your property
into compliance with City Codes, no later than 10 business days of the date of this
letter. --`
Sincerely,
Tamra Gregory
Code Compliance Officer ' /
