EVERETT
WASHINGTON
City of Everett Human Needs Grant
January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020
Exhibit A
Program Summary
Organization&Program: Dawson Place:Child Advocacy Center Service Coordination
YOUTH-the Child Advocacy Center Management serves to protect YOUTH in alliance with priorities b) SERVICES:
Mental Health Services,Behavioral halth Services,Medical Care
Child Advocacy Center Management directs a single location in downtwon Everett where ALL the services for child abuse
victims are available:medical and mental health care, child forensic interviews, victim advocacy, child protective services,
law enforcement, and prosecution services. These services are provided at Dawson Place by:
• Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse(victim advocacy&medical healthcare)
• Compass Health Child Advocacy Program(mental health therapy)
• Child Protective Services(child safety monitoring and investigations)
• Snohomish County Sheriffs Special Investigation Unit(child abuse/sexual assault cases)
• Snohomish County Prosecutor's Special Assault Unit(child abuse/sexual assault cases)
• Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center(child forensic interviews&service coordination)
Housing all the services at one location promotes collaboration, facilitates access to services, and creates efficiencies that
extend funding. A single location also diminishes the trauma for the children and families, and increases the likelihood that
they follow through on appointments and ongoing therapy.Dawson Place owns the building, coordinates inter-agency
services, performs child forensic interviews, manages the facility, raises funds, and conducts community outreach.
Dawson Place serves any child victim of felony level sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect, drug endangerment,and/or
witness to violent crimes. We serve children aged 0-18 years of age,and can extend therapy to the age of twenty-two.Our
Center provides ALL the core services available to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members in
Snohomish County at no charge. Our Center has averaged 1,120 clients annually over the last five years;about 22 new kids
per week.In 2019 we served 1,117 sexually or physically abused or neglected children;approximately 25%of those served
are residents of Everett(276 children from Everett plus gardians/family members=828 residents served).
Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is open M-F from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.Our emergency hotline is personed 24/7.
7
