ENGINEERING
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
April 14, 2017
Eric Delfel, PE
edelfel@g-o.com
Gray & Osborne, Inc.
701 Dexter Ave N., STE 200
Seattle, WA 98109
RE: Owner:
Job Address:
Plan Check Number:
Dear Mr. Delfel,
Silver Lake Water & Sewer District
9911 23rd Ave SE
B 1703-043
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you
are advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Building Architectural, Public
Works, Planning, or Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), as
amended by the State of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
reflecting the corrections requested. All revisions require the person delivering the
drawings to replace the revisions into the two sets here at our offices. For significant
revisions, or if the revisions are coming directly from a document printing facility,
please make arrangements with them to print and deliver two replacement sets.
Structural
/1. On S9 of the structural drawings, it appears that a CMU lintel beam is spanning 12'-0" over
a new wall opening. However, the lintel beam reinforcement schedule on S9 indicates no
conditions longer than 3'4". Please provide a revised schedule/details and calculations for
CMU spanning over wall openings longer than 3'-4".
2. Please provide a wall thickness for the HSS 3x3 shown on section B of Sheet S9.
3. It is unclear if the retaining walls that form the lower elevation of the pump pit are now
designed to be attached to the new slab on grade forming around the pit. If doweling of
the new slab to the top existing walls is intended, please verify if the wall is able to resist
the "at -rest" soil pressure conditions as opposed to the "active" soil pressure conditions.
Please provide a narrative or calculations are required justifying the detailing at the top of
the wall.
Pagel-aP" ,
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax (425) 257-8857/
