Calculations have been attached for the CMU lintel beam spanning 12'-0"
(pages 42 through 45). Details for this lintel have been added to "LINTEL
SCHEDULE" — see Sheet S2-6 of the attached revised plans.
2. Wall thickness of HSS 3X3 is specified on "BRIDGE CRANE FRAMING
PLAN" on the same sheet of the originally submitted plans. A
clarification note ("SEE PLAN") has been added to the detail — see
Section B on Sheet S2-6 of the attached revised plans.
3. The design intent is for the new slab to dowel into the existing walls of the
pump pit. Consequently, the walls must be designed for the "at -rest" soil
pressure conditions. See pages 34 through 41 of the attached calculations.
The calculations show that minimum reinforcing for temperature and
shrinkage is adequate for at -rest soil pressures.
701 Dexter Avenue N., Suite 200 Seattle, Washington 98109 (206) 284-0860
Fax (206) 283-3206
4 Printed on recycled paper
