Exhibit A <br /> February 7, 2020 <br /> HWA Project No. 2016-044-21 <br /> City of Everett <br /> 3200 Cedar Street <br /> Everett, Washington 98201 <br /> Attention: Gael Fisk,P.E. <br /> Subject: Additional Geotechnical Services <br /> Beverly Lake Sewer Improvements <br /> Everett,Washington <br /> Dear Gail: <br /> As requested, HWA GeoSciences Inc. (HWA) is pleased to present this scope of work to provide <br /> additional geotechnical services for the Beverly Lake Sewer Improvements in Everett, <br /> Washington. The need for additional services is associated finalizing design and providing <br /> construction support. <br /> Supplementary Geotechnical Design Services <br /> HWA proposes to provide the following services to support the completion of the design phase of <br /> the project. <br /> • Develop Retaining Wall Recommendations: It is our understanding that the city is <br /> proposing to construct a modest height, gravity block,retaining wall near the proposed lift <br /> station. HWA will evaluate soils in the vicinity of the wall and provide geotechnical design <br /> parameters for the wall structure. <br /> • Internal QA/QC: HWA will have all design calculations and recommendations reviewed <br /> by a senior principal prior to distribution to the City. <br /> • Update Geotechnical Report: HWA will update the geotechnical engineering report to <br /> include retaining wall design recommendations. The report will also contain the results of <br /> the completed geotechnical engineering investigation,including description of surface and <br /> subsurface conditions; a site plan showing exploration locations and other pertinent <br /> features; summary boring logs; and laboratory test results. The report will provide a <br /> narrative and geotechnical recommendations for each of the above described geotechnical <br /> aspects of the project. <br />
