1 DIVISION2.GR2 <br /> 2 Division 2 , <br /> 3 Earthwork <br /> 4 <br /> 5 2 02 GR2 ' <br /> 6 Removal of Structures and Obstructions <br /> 7 <br /> 8 2-02.3.GR2 <br /> 9 Construction Requirements <br /> 10 <br /> 11 2-02.3(3).GR2 I <br /> 12 Removal of Pavement, Sidewalks, Curbs, and Gutters <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Sections 2-02.3(3)A, 2-02.3(3)B, and 2-02.3(3)C are new and is supplemented by the <br /> 15 following: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 GLF 2-02.3(3)A.DOCX <br /> 18 2-02.3(3)A Removal of Cement Concrete Sidewalks <br /> 19 (******) <br /> 20 <br /> 21 For removal purposes, all concrete slabs that average 4 inches or less in thickness <br /> 22 shall be considered as sidewalk removal. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Cement concrete sidewalk shall be removed by sawcutting at the nearest scribe <br /> 25 marks beyond the neat line limits subject to the following requirements: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Removal shall be extended to a through joint or to the edge of the sidewalk if within <br /> 28 4 feet of a neat line. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The width shall be measured by the remaining existing sidewalk. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The depth of saw cut shall be a minimum of 2 inches. Saw cuts shall leave straight <br /> 33 edges and vertical faces. No diagonal cuts in sidewalk will be allowed unless <br /> 34 otherwise indicated on the drawings or directed by the Engineer. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 A concrete walk that is to remain in place will be protected from equipment damage. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 The Contractor shall not allow cuttings slurry to leave the site and the cutting <br /> 39 process shall be accompanied by vacuum collection. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Where sidewalk adjacent to a sidewalk opening is in poor condition, removal shall <br /> 42 be extended to the nearest through joint or scribe mark as may be directed by the <br /> 43 Engineer. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Pavement breakers shall be approved by the Engineer before use. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Temporary asphalt concrete sidewalk shall be included in the bid item, "Removing <br /> 48 Sidewalk". <br /> 49 <br /> 50 <br /> 51 <br /> 2020 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OVERLAY PAGE 38 OF 79 SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> WORK ORDER 3727 FEBRUARY 20,2020 <br />
