3. Sheet M2.12 shows unit FCU-1-08 at Grid D.7/2.7. The unit appears to be suspended <br /> off the interior stud wall framing and weights 69 lbs per the equipment schedule on <br /> Sheet M1.01. The following comments shall be addressed: <br /> a. Details for the support of the unit shall be provide in the construction drawings. The <br /> details shall include lateral bracing. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1 <br /> b. Calculations substantiating the support system shall be submitted for review. The <br /> support shall be designed for lateral loading per the requirements of ASCE 7-10 Section <br /> 13.6. Note that the unit does not appear to satisfy Section 13.1.4 Item 6(c) and <br /> therefore is not exempt from this requirement. See IBC Sections 1604.1 and 1613.1. <br /> c. Calculations substantiating the design of the wall framing to support the load shall be <br /> submitted for review. Details modifying the wall framing shall be provided as needed. <br /> See IBC Sections 1603.1 and 1604.1. <br /> Response: Unit FCU-1-08 is suspended from the ceiling and not the vertical wall. ISAT has addressed <br /> FCU-1-08 in the enclosed package. <br /> 4. Sheet M2.R1 shows multiple EF units on the roof weighing up to 2,200 lbs per the <br /> equipment schedules on Sheets M1.01 and M1.02. Details for the connections of the <br /> units to the roof structure shall be provide in the construction drawings. The units shall <br /> be provided with positive anchorage designed per the requirements of ASCE 7-10 <br /> Section 13.6. Note that the units do not satisfy Section 13.1.4 Item 6(c) and therefore <br /> are not exempt from this requirement. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1603.1, and 1613.1. <br /> Response:The rooftop equipment is included with the structural calculations prepared by DCI Engineers <br /> as part of our permit submission package. <br /> 5. Sheet M2.R1 shows multiple RV units on the roof. Details for the connections of the <br /> units to the roof structure shall be provide in the construction drawings. The <br /> connections shall be designed per the requirements of ASCE 7-10 Section 13.6.
