A statement
of deferred submittals shall be added to the General Notes on Sheet S-1.0 listing work
designated as deferred submittals. The note shall include a statement requiring the
engineer-of-record to review deferred submittals for conformance with the construction
documents. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 107.3.4, 107.3.4.1, and 107.4. The following is a
summary based on a review of the construction documents:
a. Metal plate-connected wood trusses.
b. Wood truss gravity connections to supporting framing
Response;
The supplemental information has been provided on attached sheet S1.1.
4 Note 2 in the"Concrete and Reinforcing Steel "section of the General Notes on Sheet S-1.0
specifies a concrete strength of 2,500 psi. The project appears to include concrete
elements (e.g., above-grade foundation wall) that are exposed to freeze-thaw cycles, and
qualify as Class F2 concrete per ACI 318-14 Table 19.3.1.1. Per ACI 318-14 Table 19.3.2.1,
the minimum concrete strength for Class F2 concrete is 4,500 psi. The minimum concrete
strength on Sheet S-1.0 shall be revised as required. See IBC Section 1901.2.
Response;
The revision has made and is reflected on attached sheet 51.
64 The project includes steel construction. The General Notes on Sheet S-1.0 shall be revised
by adding a section specifying the requirements for steel construction. The requirements
should include but are not limited to: steel grades including plates, anchors, and connection
hardware, welding materials, protective coatings, and •ecial inspection requiremen - for
steel fabrication shops. See IBC Sections 1704.2.5 and 220 . , A . ec ions A.4 4.43o7
and B3.13, and AISC 303-10 Section 3.1. . .dei ,t,3 d✓o r ocx ti✓f p 3
Response; - 3/S-y,0 T got r ti 4o r 7
The supplemental information has been provided on attached sheet S1. . This note should be revised to state that the framing will be
"preservative-treated". See IBC Section 2304.12.
Response;
The supplemental information has been provided on attached sheet S1
gib. Note 10C on Sheet S-5.0 states that the walls on Grid 3 are full-height. However, the
architectural and structural drawings appear to indicate that the walls are discontinuous at
the main floor (i.e., walls do not occur at the first story). The design should be reviewed
and the note revised as needed.
