a. Prevent the high pH water(8.5 or above)from entering storm sewer systems or <br /> surface waters; or <br /> b. If necessary, adjust or neutralize the high pH water until it is in the range of pH <br /> 6.5 to 8.5 (su)using an appropriate treatment BMP such as carbon dioxide <br /> (CO2) sparging or dry ice. The Permittee must obtain written approval from <br /> Ecology before using any form of chemical treatment other than CO2 sparging <br /> or dry ice. <br /> 7. The Permittee must perform pH analysis on site with a calibrated pH meter,pH <br /> test kit,or wide range pH indicator paper. The Permittee must record pH sampling <br /> results in the site log book. <br /> S5. REPORTING AND RECORDKEEPING REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. High Turbidity Reporting <br /> Anytime sampling performed in accordance with Special Condition S4.0 indicates <br /> turbidity has reached the 250 NTUs or more(or transparency less than or equal to 6 cm) <br /> high turbidity reporting level,the Permittee must either call the applicable Ecology <br /> Region's Environmental Report Tracking System (ERTS)number by phone within 24 <br /> hours of analysis or submit an electronic ERTS report(or submit an electronic report <br /> through Ecology's Water Quality Permitting Portal (WQWebPortal)—Permit Submittals <br /> when the form is available). See the CSWGP web site for links to ERTS and the <br /> WQWebPortal: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/stormwater/construction/ <br /> index.html. Also, see phone numbers in Special Condition S4.C.5.b.i. <br /> B. Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) <br /> Permittees required to conduct water quality sampling in accordance with Special <br /> Conditions S4.0 (Turbidity/Transparency), S4.D(pH), S8 (303[d]/TMDL sampling), <br /> and/or G13 (Additional Sampling)must submit the results to Ecology. <br /> Permittees must submit monitoring data using Ecology's WQWebDMR web application <br /> accessed through Ecology's Water Quality Permitting Portal.
