Senior Services of Snohomish County— Senior Peer Counseling Program <br /> The Senior Peer Counseling Program uses trained and supervised senior volunteers to provide <br /> supportive counseling to other seniors facing difficult life challenges. These challenges include loss <br /> of loved ones and friends, health problems, retirement, relocation, loss of mobility, and other <br /> changes associated with aging. These issues often lead to depression, isolation and anxiety. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 8. Senior Services of Snohomish County- Housing Social Services <br /> Housing Social Services provides for a regular on-site service coordinator at federally funded, <br /> subsidized housing for senior and disabled residents. They are trained to recognize social and <br /> health needs and to help residents to obtain services quickly and effectively. This forms a link to the <br /> service network in order to prevent premature or unwarranted institutionalization. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $10,000.00 <br /> 9. Hand In Hand —Village Impact Project <br /> This program will educate and equip 8 leaders to be the point of contact for their neighbors in crisis. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 10. Housing Hope—College of Hope <br /> CDBG funds will be used for the provision of life skills and employment training for homeless and at- <br /> risk households. The College of Hope program has been developed through a four-agency <br /> partnership designed to help homeless families in key areas essential to self-sufficiency. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $12,000.00 <br /> 11. Senior Services of Snohomish County— Meals on Wheels <br /> This project will help reduce the waitlist for the Meals on Wheels program and will provide nutrition <br /> to homebound vulnerable older adults living in the City of Everett. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $12,000.00 <br /> 12. ChildStrive— Community Based Early Learning Groups <br /> The community based learning groups give many children in Everett the opportunity to participate <br /> in programs and activities that promote their development. <br /> Recommended 2015 CDBG Funding $2,500.00 <br /> 14 <br />
