This equipment will enable the City to conduct high rate filtration studies to obtain Washington State <br /> Department of Health approval for the plant to operate at higher filtration rates.This process will provide <br /> data for the future optimization and modernization of filters. <br /> Intuitech is the only known vendor to offer turnkey filtration pilot plants to the water treatment market. Other <br /> available systems would require the City to design and construct additional control and monitoring systems <br /> to provide necessary data. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Approve a Resolution Waiving Competitive Bidding Requirements and Authorizing the Purchase of a <br /> Granular Media Filtration Pilot Plant from Intuitech, Inc. in the amount of$167,778.36,including <br /> Washington State Sales Tax. <br /> 153 <br />
