Ordinance No. <br /> An Ordinance amending the Zoning Code to allow storage and maintenance <br /> facilities for public transportation agencies as a Special Property Use in the B-2 <br /> (Community Business)zone,amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1671-89 and. <br /> Section 36 of Ordinance No.2397-99, as amended (EMC Title 19,Zoning). <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds the following: _ <br /> 1. The Zoning Code is codified in Everett Municipal Code Title 19,regulating the use of land <br /> within various use zones within the City; and <br /> 2. The City received a request from the Washington State Department of Transportation <br /> (WSDOT)to amend the permitted uses in the B-2 (Community Business) zone to allow <br /> maintenance facilities for public transportation agencies through the Special Property Use <br /> permit process; and <br /> • <br /> 3. The Planning Commission agreed to initiate consideration of the requested code amendment; <br /> and <br /> 4. City staff have reviewed the request and have recommended that the requested amendment <br /> be approved; and <br /> 5. The Planning Commission held a public workshop on March 10, 2015, and a public hearing <br /> on April 21, 2015,to consider the proposed amendment, and has recommended that the City <br /> Council approve the proposed amendment to the Zoning Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council concludes the following: <br /> 1. The proposed amendment is consistent with the Everett Growth Management Comprehensive <br /> Plan; and <br /> 2. The proposed amendment bears a substantial relation to the public health, safety and welfare; <br /> and <br /> 3. The proposed amendment promotes the best long term interests of the Everett community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 1 <br />
