The City of Everett has
participated in the task force at different times throughout this period. In 2000, an Interlocal Agreement signed by the
City Council approved City participation, including the Everett Police Department's assignment of its entire narcotics
unit to the task force. This Agreement provides for the Everett Police Department to continue the current assignment
of narcotics personnel to the task force through 2011. Everett's expanded role with the task force has proven to
provide an increase in narcotics enforcement services to the City. Law enforcement activities are jointly coordinated
in order to disrupt illegal drug trafficking.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign an Interlocal
Agreement for Task Force Services between the City of Everett and the Snohomish County Regional Drug Task
Force.
5
