Projection - Marquee signs may project the same <br /> distance as the marquee, even though this may exceed the rule for <br /> projecting signs, though they may not extend to closer than <br /> five feet (5' ) of the curb . <br /> Section 13: Electric Signs <br /> A. Illumination - Flashing incandescent lamps shall <br /> not exceed a 66 watt level, unless protected by a sun screen. <br /> ° Reflector lamps must have sun screens except for indirect flood <br /> lighting. <br /> B. Flashing - There shall be no flashing of all <br /> elements, simultaneously, or any flashing effect which could be <br /> j misconstrued as a traffic control device. Revolving beacons <br /> are prohibited. <br /> C. Power Consumption - Electric signs must bear <br /> statement of power consumption. <br /> D. Electric signs must meet all requirements of the <br /> Electrical Code of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 14: Temporary Signs <br /> A. Size - No temporary sign shall exceed one hundred <br /> square feet (100 sq. ft . ) in area. Temporary signs of rigid <br /> material shall not exceed twenty-four square feet (24 sq. ft . ) <br /> in area, or six feet (6' ) in height, nor shall any such sign be <br /> fastened to the ground. <br /> B. Duration - Temporary signs may remain in place <br /> for a period not exceeding 60 days, under a permit with a penalty <br /> as prescribed by the authority. <br /> C. Cloth Signs - Cloth signs shall meet the following <br /> 1 requirements: <br /> 1 . Support . Every temporary cloth sign shall be <br /> ° supported and attached with wire rope of three-eights inch <br /> 91 (3/8") minimum diameter. No strings, fiber ropes, or wood slats <br /> shall be permitted for support or anchorage purposes . Cloth <br /> ji <br /> signs and panels shall be perforated over at least 10 per cent <br /> of their area to reduce wind resistance. <br /> ' 2. Exceptions . Temporary cloth signs over private <br /> P. property not exceeding sixty sq. ft. (60 sq. ft. ) shall be <br /> Isupported and attached with wire rope meeting the requirements of <br /> of this Code. <br /> 3. Projection. Cloth signs may extend over <br /> public property only as set forth in Section 13.28 of Everett <br /> City Code. <br /> D. Other Temporary Signs - Temporary signs, other <br /> than cloth, when ten feet (10") or more above the ground, may <br /> project not more than six inches (6") over public property or <br /> beyond the building line. <br /> Section 15: Conflict-Severability Repeal <br /> A.
