Box 1947
Everett,Washington 98206
Attn.: Mr. Chris Dugovich
Re: Geotechnical Engineering Services.
Proposed Residential Development
3313 Oakes Avenue
Everett,Washington
Dear Mr. Dugovich:
As requested, GeoTest Services, Inc. (GTS) is pleased to submit this report
summarizing the results of our geotechnical engineering evaluation for the proposed
residential development to be constructed at 3313 Oakes Avenue in Everett,
Washington, as shown on the Vicinity Map, Figure 1. The purpose of our services was
to evaluate general subsurface conditions beneath the site from which conclusions and
recommendations for general site development and foundation design could be
formulated. Specifically, our scope of services included the following tasks:
• Exploration of soil and groundwater conditions underlying the site by drilling three
test borings with a track-mounted drill rig to evaluate subsurface conditions.
• Laboratory testing on representative samples in order to classify and evaluate
the engineering characteristics of the encountered soils.
• Provide this written report containing a description of subsurface conditions,
boring logs, findings and recommendations pertaining to site preparation and
earthwork, fill and compaction, wet weather earthwork, seismic design,
foundation recommendations, concrete slab-on-grade construction, foundation
and site drainage, utilities, temporary and permanent slopes, temporary shoring,
geotechnical consultation and construction monitoring, and lateral earth
pressures for retaining wall design.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For this report, we were provided with preliminary architectural drawings of the proposed
three-unit residential development. Carl J. Colson (Architect) prepared these plans,
which were dated November 21, 2016. The architect also provided us with another
drawing showing topographic information, which was undated. Based on these
drawings and conversations with Mr. Colson, we understand that the new residential
development would consist of two buildings.
