City of Everett 01 1100 - 1 <br /> 2020 Trickling Filter Media Replacement UP 3742-2 <br /> SECTION 01 1100 - SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> 1.1 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> A. The Work specified for this contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials, <br /> tools and equipment necessary for the replacement of the plastic media within <br /> one of the City's existing 85' diameter trickling filters. The fabricated media <br /> modules will be suitable for treating normal primary effluent and/or lagoon effluent <br /> from a municipal wastewater source in a trickling filter located at the City of <br /> Everett, Washington without causing plugging or structural damage for an <br /> intended useful service life of greater than 20 years. Included in the work is the <br /> cleaning, inspection and (if needed) restoration of coatings/concrete repair to the <br /> trickling filter reactor. The work generally includes, but shall not be limited to the <br /> following: <br /> 1. Removal and storage of the geodesic aluminum dome along with the <br /> disconnection and removal of the foul air piping systems. <br /> 2. Removal and storage of portions of the rotating distributor assembly. <br /> 3. Removal, demolition and disposal of the existing; 1) plastic media, 2)top protective <br /> walkway grating and 3) bottom support grating system. <br /> 4. Cleaning of the interior to allow for inspection of the concrete surfaces. <br /> 5. Repair of any concrete or coatings as deemed necessary by the City's Inspection <br /> Team. <br /> 6. Installation of the new support grating system, (including hardware and fasteners) <br /> and trickling filter media modules as provided and directed by the media <br /> manufacturer. <br /> 7. Installation of a protective walking surface grating covering the entire top surface <br /> of the media. <br /> 1.2 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Prior to mobilization the following submittals shall be submitted to the City for <br /> review and approval. <br /> 1. Pick and Support Plan for domed roof, see Section 02 2050. <br /> Plan shall be an Engineered and Stamped plan detailing the removal, storage, <br /> protection and reinstallation of the domed roof structure and associated FRP <br /> piping. <br /> 2. Contractor's Spill Prevention Plan see Section 01 5000. <br /> 3. Health and Safety Plan (specific to this project), see Section 01 3529. <br /> 01 1100 - 1 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />
