w <br /> WASTE MANAGEMENT WASTE MANAGEMENT ` J <br /> WASTE ACCEPTANCE POLICY <br /> CHECKLIST-Pharmaceutical <br /> For all items listed below and for any Pharmaceutical or Hazardous Waste <br /> Service the following must occur prior to servicing: <br /> -;Waste Profiled-All Pharmaceuticals must be Profiled and Listed <br /> -Packaging Understanding- Customer must understand Packaging Requirements <br /> -If segregating Hazardous/Dangerous Waste from Non-Hazardous/State Only <br /> Dangerous -Customer must have proper staff training to assure proper <br /> segregation <br /> ACCEPTED WASTE: <br /> Non-Hazardous/State Only Dangerous <br /> ✓ Non Hazardous, Non RCRA, and Non Characteristic Wastes <br /> ✓ Items Designated as `State Only' (Washington) Dangerous Wastes <br /> ✓ State Only Dangerous/Non RCRA/Non Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste in Pill, Vial, Liquid, or Powder format (all liquid <br /> and powder items must be contained in secondary container) <br /> Hazardous/RCRA/Universal/Dangerous <br /> ✓ After Profiling, waste must be segregated appropriately <br /> ✓ Some wastes may not be compatible and require its own container <br /> ✓ Separate Manifesting and Generator Requirements may be applicable <br /> ✓ Included Listed Wastes (P or U listed), and Compounds or Chemicals Listed within the Resource <br /> Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) or State/Local Regulations deemed `Toxic', `Dangerous', <br /> `Flammable', `Reactive', `Corrosive', `Ignitable', `Universal', or other Hazardous/Dangerous Waste <br /> Designation or Characteristic. <br /> Controlled/Scheduled Drugs Needing `Dive- <br /> ✓ Any Controlled Substances must be rendered inert/diverted through one of the following Methods <br /> • RX Destroyer <br /> • Cactus Sink <br /> • Deterra <br /> ✓ If Drug is originally `Hazardous' Disposal Product (Bottle/Filter/Bag) must be disposed of through Hazardous/RCRA <br /> Process <br /> ✓ If Drug is Non Hazardous (Most are Non Hazardous)- Item may be sent out as Non Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste or <br /> CESQG (If qualified). <br /> CESQG (Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator)-(white bucket <br /> program) <br /> Waste Generator must NOT generate more than 2.2 lbs of Acute Toxic or Acute Hazardous <br /> Waste (P-Listed) and never generate more than 220 lbs of Hazardous/Dangerous Waste in <br /> any one month. <br /> Waste Generator must notify Waste Management immediately if their Generator Status <br /> Changes <br /> ✓ Pharmaceutical Waste / Samples -including Pills, Vials, Liquid Waste (Liquids must be contained), and <br /> Powders (Powders must be contained) <br /> ✓ Only Compatible Waste Streams in same container <br /> x REMINDER <br /> Pharmaceutical Waste- Pharmaceutical Waste is NOT ACCEPTED in medical waste containers. <br />
