• <br /> July 22, 2020 <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic. <br /> Mayor Franklin also provided an overview of a large fire that occurred on a <br /> construction site at the Port of Everett on Thursday. She thanked the Everett Fire <br /> Department and surrounding departments who assisted in mitigating the fire. <br /> Mayor Franklin presented the following emergency resolution for council <br /> concurrence due to a damaged fire apparatus and an ambulance from the fire at <br /> the Port. Mike Calvert, Fire Department, and Theresa Bauccio-Teschlog, <br /> Purchasing, provided an overview of the damage to the fire apparatus and <br /> ambulance and the need for declaring an emergency to waive competitive bidding <br /> requirements. <br /> RESOLUTION — EMERGENCY FIRE APPARATUS/AMBULANCE REPAIRS <br /> • <br /> Moved by Council Member Bader,seconded by Council Member Roberts, <br /> to adopt Resolution No. 7543 declaring an Emergency Regarding <br /> Procurement of Repair of Fire Apparatus and Repair or Replacement of <br /> Ambulance. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council members thanked Everett Fire and surrounding fire departments for the <br /> response to the fire at the Port of Everett on Thursday. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher expressed concern over the fact that the City <br /> provides fire services to the Port of Everett, but the Port is not subject to property <br /> taxes and therefore the burden of fire services for the Port is on Everett taxpayers. <br /> • <br /> 211 <br />
