• <br /> • <br /> (2) The operator of a vehicle may overtake and pass another <br /> vehicle upon the right only under conditions permitting <br /> such movement in safety . In no event shall such movement be <br /> made by driving off the pavement or main traveled portion <br /> of the roadway . <br /> Section b: Section 89 of Ordinance No. 3211 , (being <br /> Everett City Code 8 . 24. 140) be, and it is hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> 8.24. 140 Required position and method of turning at intersec- <br /> tions . The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an inter- <br /> section shall do so as follows: <br /> (a) Right turns: Both the approach for a right turn <br /> and a right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the <br /> right hand curb or edge of the roadway . <br /> (b) Left turns on two-way roadways : At any inter- <br /> section where traffic is permitted to move in both directions <br /> on each roadway entering the intersection, an approach for a <br /> left turn shall be made in that portion of the right half of the <br /> roadway nearest the center line thereof and by passing to the <br /> right of such center line where it enters the intersection and <br /> after entering the intersection the left turn shall be made so <br /> as to leave the intersection to the right of the center line <br /> of the roadway being entered. Whenever practicable the left turn <br /> shall be made in that portion of the intersection to the left <br /> of the center of the intersection . <br /> (c) Left turns on other than two-way roadways : At <br /> any intersection where traffic is restricted to one direction <br /> on one or more of the roadways, the driver of a vehicle <br /> intending to turn left at any such intersection shall approach <br /> the intersection in the extreme lefthand lane lawfully available <br /> to traffic moving in the direction of travel of such vehicle <br /> and after entering the intersection the left turn shall be <br /> made so as to leave the intersection , as nearly as practicable, <br /> in the left-hand lane lawfully available to traffic moving <br /> in such direction upon the roadway being entered. <br /> Section 7 : That Section 92 of Ordinance No. 3211 , (being <br /> Everett City Code '8. 24. 170) be, and it is hereby amended to read <br /> as follows : <br /> 8 .24. 170 Left turns prohibited except at intersections . <br /> No left-hand turns shall be made by the operator of any vehicle <br /> from any public street so as to enter any alley , driveway, <br /> building entrance, private driveway or private property or <br /> parking place or to enter any public street from such alley, <br /> driveway, building entrance or private way; PROVIDED , this sec- <br /> tion shall not be applicable to streets designated by proper <br /> municipal authority as one-way streets . <br /> Section 3: That Section 108 of Ordinance No . 3211 , <br /> (being Everett City Code 8 . 24.330) be , and it is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows : <br /> 8 . 24. 330 Unlawful to leave street side of vehicle.
