The applicant has had several years to plan for probable <br /> expansion and enlargement of the existing Permanent t1,1, <br /> . building but has not,and the..neighborhood should not now <br /> suffer by the erection of portable buildings. <br /> •- <br /> Councilman Moore said that he felt that planning should be <br /> commensurate with the area involve.and he didn't think that <br /> portables should be placed in a$40,000 home area when they <br /> could be placed in some other area. I.felt the property in <br /> this area would be harmed rather than helped by allowing these <br /> portables to be constructed ttere. . <br /> Councilman Callaghan said that he was afraid that if they <br /> allowed•these four that they would have no out but to say yes <br /> to five or six or seven more,if the school district came <br /> and requested it,so he was against placing the portables in <br /> this area also. <br /> • <br /> Councilman Dobler said he would like to know what was in the <br /> original use permit,.the specific wording of it. He said he • <br /> would be opposed to an indastty being put in a portable just <br /> as he was opposed to a school district using portables for <br /> Permat-type use. <br /> Council Michelson felt that the school district was using the <br /> portables for nothing less than-a warehouse.and he felt this <br /> should not be allowed in this.area. <br /> Councilman Langus said that although portablei have always <br /> been designed as temPorary,most portables that Were permitted <br /> back the forties at.still in business,so he was opposed <br /> to this. <br /> Councilman Gebertl felt that the Council was elected to represent <br /> and carry out the Wishes of the people and be had been in <br />• attendance at the Planning Commission Meeting and felt <br /> that people were very much against these portables,so he felt <br /> he would have to be against them also. <br /> I '1 <br /> I President Vognild said he believed the interest of the school <br /> could be served by using the portables where they are at present <br /> and felt no need to have them moved to the location regauted. <br /> • The Mayor said that he would have feel.ngs of the Council put <br /> • • on paper and sent to the Planning Commission prior to their <br /> , meeting,IhnredaY• • <br /> • <br /> • OLD BUSINESS <br /> • <br /> • BID CALL Moved 100ouncilman Dobler,01010101010 by 00000011011010 Callaghanu <br /> to call for bids for supplying the Fire Department with. <br /> uniforms.
