420 1 November 3,1982 PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS President Pope said the subject of Colby Crosswalk would be placed on next week's agenda as several Councilmen as well as himself had some II • concerns they would like to discuss. He then announced there would be a visitor at Council this morning, a person from Germany who would be introduced by Gerhard Ruben. COUNCILMAN'S COMMENTS Councilman Stephaneon remind.Council of the Cardiac Center.hearing tomorrow evening at 7:00.in the Council Chambers,and of the Port Gardner Neighborhood history program this Saturday from 9)00 a.m.to 1-2)00 noon at Port Gardner School. CITIZEN'S COMMENTS Vern Swanson,of 7611 Rainier Dr.,reported he h.a petition signed by all residents on Rainier asking that the street not be reopened to through traffic. He reminded Council that it was closed for safety purposes and the residents felt the problems would begin if the street I1) were reopened as another group of citizens was going to request. ) President Pope said he was aware of a movement to request reopening the street and suggested that Mr.Swanson keep his petition if this matter khould come before Council for cohsideration. Mayor Moore then said this matter had come to his office buk felt this would not be discussed until the connecting street from Evergreen Way to Casino was in.
