17 <br /> 44)1 <br /> January 19,1983 <br /> 11-41 WOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Everett City Council as <br /> follows: <br /> That the Everett Police Department in conjunction with the City <br /> Animal Shelter ie hereby authorized to offer a cash reward not to '41 <br /> exceed$300.00,for information leading to the arrest and conviction '1 <br /> of anY Person(s)who broke a.entered into the Animal Shelter on or <br /> about January 9,1983,and/or the recovery of all stolen property <br /> from the Everett Animal Shelter. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Overstreet reported that the bids for the Southwest <br /> Everett Sewer Interceptor project had been opened and were very <br /> favorable. In fact,they were somewhat below the engineer's <br /> estimate. <br /> Councilman Stephenson reported the City is now going to begin <br /> repairing and maintaining its oim radios which should result in E <br /> aPPromimately$20,000 per year eavings. <br /> He.en said the Budget Committee had also decided to place the <br /> additional funds from carry-overs of block grant funds into a <br /> special revenue sharing fund for disbursement at Council's <br /> discretion throughout the year,to be used for food,etc. <br /> ADDITIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STUDY FUNDS <br /> Pat McClain,of the Mayor's staff,presented a resolution for <br /> Council's review which would appropriate an additional 510,000 <br /> ix economic development funds for a zeal estate market analysis <br /> of the downtown area. Thia was reviewed and recommended by the <br /> Budget Committee at their last meeting. A study of this nature <br /> would be an integral part of the downtown development plan. <br /> Councilman Aldcroft Said he felt this would be covered in the ,, <br /> main segment approved recently and suggested the City wait until <br /> this bad been completed. Mr.McClain explained this would be a 114 <br /> more in-depth study of the down..area and would be done by <br /> the same firm. <br /> Mayor Macre said this market analysis was necessary for those <br /> people who are contemplating investing in our community and <br /> would be a good investment. <br /> Jim Langus,Chief Administrative Assistant,pointed out there .4 t,.1 <br /> was money in the 1983 budget for this purpose and it would not <br /> sx <br /> require any new dollars. Money was budgeted for an economic <br /> develorment person for 19E13 end this hiring would be delayed <br /> until later,thus freeing a portion of that salary for the <br /> study. <br /> Dennis Derickson,of the Planning Department,felt the City <br /> would be getting a good cost on this a.there were eeveral <br /> people available right away to begin the survey. <br /> , r <br />
