193 reny 25,1983 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 7010 p.m.,May 25,1983,in the Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President Pope presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance,except Councilman Overstreet,who was excused. 4 I Minutes of the meeting held May 18,1983,were approved as printed. INVITATION Ii Chuck Moser extended an invitation to Council to attend a get-together at his home,2118 Pine,on June 3rd to show support to the Planning Commission for its development of a plan to make Everett a better Once in which to live. , - h . APPO/NTMENT r I Moved by Councilman Aldcroft,seconded by Councilman Langus,to concur Of with the mayor's appointment of Mrs.Helen Johnston to fill the unexpired term of her late husband,Bill,to serve on the Block Grant Board. Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilman Overstreet,who was excused. ,l iP Motion Carried I, ', PROCLAMATION A A' Mayor Moore proclaimed May 30th and 31st,1983,as"Circus Vargas Days" 711in Everett and then presented the proclamation to 00000900 Clown, rercus Vargas. ,, presenting Ci PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS President Pope reminded Council that it has been customary dbring the months of July and August to have light agendas and that they will try to get a lot of the work done in June. He also asked that Council k 4 members notify him of their vacation plans so certain agenda items can be scheduled accordingly. He then reported that last week he and the Mayor went to Evergreen Middle School during their Pride Week and sadd that Everett will be in gOod hands in the future with these gOOdg 000p1O. COUNCILMEN'S COMMENTS Councilman Michelson reported on the Emergency Food and Shelter Committee meeting and Said since some of the applications had not been comPleted fully,the deadline had been extended until May 27a.
